Jessica Rae Crocker is a craftsperson, artist, and educator currently residing in Prescott, AZ. Her work explores concepts of intimacy, openness, and interconnection through the lens of mythology, history, science, craft, and technology. She incorporates a wide variety of material practices into her work with a focus on ceramics, sculpture, and electronics. She spent her formative years growing up in South Dakota before moving to the southwest, where she received her BFA in Studio Arts from the University of Arizona (emphasis on metal sculpture and ceramics) and MFA in Ceramics from San Diego State University incorporating expanded media practices and interactive technologies into her work. She also has an MPhil (Ph.D. ABD) in Visual Arts, Philosophy, and Aesthetics from IDSVA with concentrated research on the intersection of arts and crafts, ecological thought, and new philosophies. 

Her research-driven practice incorporates traditional ceramic and sculpture techniques juxtaposed with new technologies and handbuilt electronics bringing to question the line between industrial prefabrication and the essence of the handmade. She teaches a variety of classes including ceramics, sculpture, drawing, and art foundations at Yavapai College and Prescott College in Prescott, AZ. In addition to her sculpture and clay practice, she is also an avid drawer, painter, and designer using these skills as a resident tattoo artist at Modern Craft Tattoo Prescott, AZ.
